Download Binaries

All you need to boot Linux is to download the following two binaries, put them on your Jornada 820, launch the bootloader executable file hpcbootm.exe, and tell it where to find the bootimage j820.

The bootimage runs the Linux kernel with a ramdisk containing a minimal yet functional userland: the ramdisk includes busybox, pcmcia_cs binaries, a few scripts, and compressed kernel modules. From there, you already have an interactive Linux environment, and you can setup a full-fledged Linux distribution of your choice, as installed in a CF card of by NFS, and chain-boot into it.
